On February 6, 2025, director of the Center for Strategic Research under the
President of the Republic of Tajikistan Usmonzoda Khairidin met with director of the Central Asian branch of the state information Agency “Xinhua” of the People’s Republic of China Zhao Yu.
At first, the director of the Center for Strategic Research Usmonzoda Khairidin welcomed the guests and gave brief information about the scientific and analytical activities of the Center. It was noted that scientific and analytical interaction between the Center and research institutions in China is at a high level.
In turn, Mr. Zhao Yu expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and provided detailed information on the activities of the Central Asian branch of the state information Agency “Xinhua” of China. He emphasized the Agency’s interest in developing cooperation with the Center in the field of publication and dissemination of analytical materials.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the possibilities of strengthening cooperation in the field of information support and promotion of friendly policy between Tajikistan and China.
The sides expressed confidence that cooperation between the Center for Strategic Research and the Central Asian branch of the state information Agency “Xinhua” of China will contribute to the deepening of relations between Tajikistan and China.
During the meeting, the director of the “Xinhua” Agency noted that this year’s China + Central Asia Summit (5 + 1) will be held in Astana. The Summit of the Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) will be held in China under the chairmanship of the Chinese side. In this regard, a desire was expressed to establish a strong cooperation with the Centre on the publication and dissemination of information on the upcoming events.
In turn, the director of the Centre stressed that the Summit of the Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will be held in Dushanbe on 10 October 2025 under the chairmanship of the Tajik side. Also, it was pointed out that Tajikistan on the basis of the UN resolution will hold a High-Level Conference on Glacier Protection in Dushanbe on 29-31 May 2025. In this regard, the information assistance of “Xinhua” Agency is important in the process of promotion of these events.
The meeting was held in a spirit of sincerity, mutual understanding and constructive dialog.
