On February 6, 2025, a meeting was held between a representative of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the delegation of the World Bank as part of information gathering mission for preparing the Economic Growth and Employment Report (EGER) for Tajikistan.
At the beginning of the meeting, Murtazozoda Oraz, First Deputy Director of the Center warmly welcomed and familiarized the guests with the priority areas of the Center’s scientific and analytical activities, emphasizing its role in the study of current socio-economic processes.
The representatives of the World Bank Group, Mr. Bahrom Ziyaev outlined the main goals and key aspects of the research, highlighting its importance for analyzing barriers to sustainable economic growth and job creation in the country. It was emphasized that the research results would contribute to the implementation of the National Development Strategy until 2030, as well as the preparation of a new strategy until 2045.
During the meeting, the Deputy Director, Jurakhonzoda Saodat, addressed the issue of job creation for the labor market, focusing on the importance of this area for the sustainable development of the country. The parties exchanged views on the conceptual approach and timeline for preparing the research. Special attention was given to the collection and analysis of statistical data necessary for a comprehensive study of the situation. The Center representatives expressed their readiness to contribute to the research, including by participating in the Working Group, which will coordinate the preparation process of the EGER.
At the end of the meeting the parties noted the importance of further cooperation and expressed mutual interest in effective cooperation within the framework of the research.
