DUSHANBE, 12.11.2024 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On November 12, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with the President of the Asian Development Bank, Mr. Masatsugu Asagawa, in Baku, Azerbaijan, on the sidelines of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
It was emphasized that during the 26 years of cooperation, the Bank has financed 158 projects important for our country in the field of energy infrastructure, transport, agriculture, irrigation, finance and education.
The parties discussed the impact of external factors on Tajikistan’s economy and finding ways to reduce it.
In order to make the economy resilient to the dangers and threats of today’s world, it was considered necessary, first of all, to attract more capital and continue economic reforms.
It was emphasized that the allocation of grant funds by development partners to support the reform process, the state budget and the implementation of priority projects of Tajikistan will be beneficial.
The issues of expanding cooperation for the development of production industries in Tajikistan, including industry, agriculture, and the field of hydropower were among the other topics of the conversation.
Also, the participation of the Bank in the direction of increasing economic activity, the development of the financial market of Tajikistan, facilitating the process of digitization of various sectors of the economy and the introduction of «green» technologies were discussed.
