If we examine the early years of the Center’s activities, followed by subsequent periods of development, the pages of its history reveal opinions, discussions, and significant efforts regarding the issues of ensuring peace and national unity, the political and economic revival of the state, and the specification of the primary directions for the political, social, and economic development of the country. The analysis of the Center’s activities also indicates that it embodies the characteristics and challenges of the political, economic, and social conditions of specific historical phases. In particular, the third decade of the Center’s development coincides with a period of searching for pathways and directions to ensure political, social, and economic security, as well as the formation of the institutional foundations for the country’s development. This reflects the necessity for new processes emerging in society, prompting the institution to objectively and continuously reassess its activities from new perspectives and to adopt new qualitative interactions and effective methods as the goals of its work.
In the current context, the activities of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan are focused on assessing both the current and long-term strategic development of all spheres of society. Additionally, the Center aims to develop recommendations and proposals for implementing specific measures at various levels—national, regional, and sectoral.

The Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan in the years of state independence has turned from an economic institute into a full-scale multivector research institution, along with other scientific institutes in the same form passed state accreditation and currently conducts important scientific research in the field of political science and economics.
The contribution of the Center and its specialists today is very significant in the study of domestic and foreign policy issues, macroeconomic issues and sectoral economics.
This institution of scientific research and strategic forecasting also has a peer-reviewed scientific journal, which publishes the results of scientific activities of its staff and specialists of other scientific institutions and higher education institutions. These publications are becoming available to researchers in Tajikistan and other countries of the world.
The Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan has also expanded international cooperation in the field of science, and over the thirty years of its activity the Center has conducted many joint studies with similar centers in different countries of the world, particularly with strategic partners and member states of CIS and SCO.
Along with these scientific achievements, the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan needs to strengthen its activities in cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and other scientific institutions and higher professional education in order to train scientific personnel with scientific degrees.

At present, the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan as a scientific-analytical organization reporting directly to the President and intended to study strategic issues of economy, security problems, education, science, culture and participating in the development of state strategies, programs, preparation of scientific-analytical developments for the implementation of strategic goals makes a significant contribution to the development of independent Tajikistan.
The further development of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan seems to me in the expansion of research topics and deepening of scientific and analytical activities in the field of strategic directions of development of independent Tajikistan and thus play a key and leading role:
- in improving the quality and efficiency of information — analytical support of strategic decision-making of the state;
- in scientific-analytical and informational support of realization of tasks and strategic goals of the country’s development;
- in strengthening economic relations between countries and regions of the world;
- in the assessment and monitoring of the implementation of the long-term strategy of socio-economic development of the country, preparation of recommendations on the adjustment and realization of strategic goals;
- in the development of expert and analytical support for economic and infrastructural provision for the implementation of strategic tasks;
- wide participation in the development of strategic documents necessary for key sectors of the economy and ensuring scientific and technological development of the country;
- in providing strategic audit of the achievement of national goals and implementation of national projects.

In the system of statehood, it is important that the country’s top leadership has the necessary and timely information on socio-economic, political and cultural processes, the protection of the country’s strategic interests and ensuring its economic security, the activities of economic entities, the processes taking place in civil society, the activities of political parties and religious organizations. Access to such information is possible only on the basis of studying the state of society, analysis and forecasts of specialists and scientific research conducted by such institutions as the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. Thus, the importance and place of this state structure in the country’s governance system is great, and it has managed to accomplish important things during its activity. I sincerely congratulate the Tajiks and especially the staff of the center on the 30th anniversary of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, I wish them health, happiness in life, and success in fulfilling their tasks.

The Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan is one of the most influential intellectual centers of the country based on a combination of the results of theoretical and practical sciences and a consistent understanding of the positive trends in modern international relations. The Center has made a significant contribution not only in developing strategic directions for state regulation of all sectors of the socio-economic system and determining priorities in the concept of managing the national security system of the country, but also in forming and the development of natural independence, strategic thinking of the country’s population and its creative spirit in the stability of modern Tajik civilized society.
