A press conference of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan was held on July 31, 2024. It was attended by many representatives of domestic and foreign mass media.
The press conference was opened by the press secretary of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Ramazoni Davlatov and he welcomed the media representatives to the press conference. Then the Director of the Center Khayriddin Usmonzoda made a brief report on scientific research and organizational activities of the Center in the first half of 2024.
It should be noted that according to the given report, the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan was able to carry out effective activity of scientists and analysts and all employees of its member structures in the direction of performance of scientific-research works, preparation of analytical and information-consulting reports, organization and holding of scientific-practical conferences during six months of the reporting period of 2024, cooperation with state bodies, international cooperation, etc. in order to achieve positive results. In accordance with the plan of scientific and research works prepared since the beginning of 2024, researches on the topics “National security and protection of national interests at the new stage of development of statehood of the Republic of Tajikistan: issues and strategic prospects of its ensuring”, “Ensuring economic security on the basis of increasing the competitiveness of the Republic of Tajikistan” were conducted, analytical and information-consulting reports were developed on their basis, scientific and practical conferences were organized and conducted.
Taking into account the complex situation in the modern world, the experts of the Center in the process of their research and preparation of analytical and information-consulting reports, organization and holding of scientific-practical conferences paid the main attention to the impact of these processes on the life of the society of Tajikistan. Timely and optimal views and assessments of the staff on these processes, their timely proposals, recommendations and analysis on important political and socio-economic issues of the country, region and the world are considered as fruitful activities of the Center during the reporting period.
The development of scientific and research links with think tanks of other countries is considered to be one of the main priorities in the activities of this important state institution of Tajikistan. The institution currently has agreements with 26 think tanks, which is evidence of the institution’s reputation and credibility. The Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan has fruitful cooperation with a number of think tanks of other states, including Centers for Strategic Research of Russia, Kazakhstan, China, India, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Iran, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, South Korea and others. In order to enhance external cooperation, the Centre held 12 negotiations and meetings with representatives of countries and international organizations during this period, in coordination with state institutions.
In the first half of 2024, the Center held two high-level regional and international conferences with the direct support of the Leader of the nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Honorable Emomali Rahmon. In particular, in April 2024, within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Tajikistan, a joint conference of the Center for Strategic Research and the International Institute of Central Asia was held on the theme “Tajikistan and Uzbekistan: new prospects for strategic partnership and alliance”. Also, based on the plan of accompanying events, a joint international conference entitled “Tajikistan-China: state and prospects of comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era” was held within the framework of the state visit of President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to the Republic of Tajikistan.
The Center’s scientific journals “Tajikistan and Contemporary World” and “International Relations and Security” are included in the list of the most prestigious publications of domestic and foreign scientific and educational circles. Articles of the journals “Tajikistan and Contemporary World” and “International Relations and Security” are constantly included in the scientific citation index of the Russian Federation (RSCI). In this regard, due to the fact that two prestigious journals of the Center are published without interruption, it is worth noting the expansion of the publishing activities of the Center.
Expansion of publishing activities gives an opportunity for the products of the Center’s specialists to reach a wider environment. During the reporting period, the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan prepared an information and explanatory material entitled “Explanation of the main points of the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon to Majlisi Oli: its essence and main directions” in a book format of 58 pages and sent it electronically to ministries and departments, cities, districts and regions of the country by order of the Executive Office under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The Center has created all conditions for training and professional development of its staff. The staff of the Center constantly improve their scientific and professional level outside and inside of the country. At the Center, 20% of specialists have scientific titles and degrees, and the main focus is on training language and talented specialists who aspire in the field of science.
According to the Order of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the head of the Center is responsible and representative of the Government of the country in Istiqlol city of Sughd region. In March of the current year, the Director of the Center made a working visit to Istiqlol city of Sughd region and acquainted with the state of construction of celebratory objects and activities of educational institutions and production enterprises. During the meeting with representatives of the religious sphere, activists and the population of the city, he held an open dialog and conveyed to the people the content of the instructions and assignments of the Head of State expressed during the meeting with activists, public representatives and religious figures. At the same time, he held fruitful talks and meetings with officers and soldiers of the military unit located in the city.
In the second part of the press conference, Khayriddin Usmonzoda, Director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, gave satisfactory answers to various questions of domestic and foreign journalists, which mainly related to political, economic and social problems, citing exact and reliable facts.
The purpose and direction of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan from a new and modern point of view are aimed at analyzing and forecasting the sustainable development of the country.
The press conference was held in the spirit of sincerity, mutual understanding and constructive dialog.
