DUSHANBE, 11.05.2023 /NIAT «Khovar»/. On May 10, a scientific-practical conference was held at the State University of Khujand named after academician Bobojon Gafurov under the title «New ways and methods of resistance to religious and extremist and terrorist parties and movements», NIAT «Khovar» informs with reference to the university.
Experts from the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Center for Islamic studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of regional law enforcement agencies, a wide range of teachers and students of the university participated in the conference and discussed new ways and methods of resisting religious parties and movements, extremism and terrorism.
It was emphasized that changes in the modern world, which originate from the main processes of globalization, along with the emergence of progressive currents, lead to the creation of ideological contradictions. Unfortunately, today there are groups and organizations that use the name of religion to inculcate radical ideas, which eventually leads to the manifestation of religious extremism among a wide range of the population.
At the conference, speeches were heard on the topics «Protection of national interests in the changing conditions of the modern world», «Ways and means of preventing extremism in the conditions of globalization and the clash of civilizations» and others.
