On March 9, 2023, held on the bilateral meeting of the Head of the Strategic Research Center under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan with the representatives of the Republic of Uzbekistan, participants of the international conference “Tajikistan — Central Asia: the policy of good neighborliness, mutual support, eternal friendship and joint development».
First, the director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Khayriddin Usmonzoda, welcomed the guests to the land of Tajiks and reminded that Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are friendly and neighboring states and an important strategic partner. Mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries is the result of the state visits of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the Republic of Uzbekistan and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Tajikistan.
Khairiddin Usmonzoda assessed the role of the political leaders of the two countries as important in the process of expanding strategic partnership cooperation and usefully evaluated the contribution of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in ensuring the security of the region and its further development. At the same time, were specially emphasized issues of cultural values between countries.
Then the director of the International Institute of Central Asia of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Strategic Research Center under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan for the warm welcome and emphasized that the cooperation between the two neighboring states, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan is expanding year by year.
He specially noted the reforms and innovations of the city of Dushanbe and assessed the role of Tajik architects in the construction of modern buildings as important.
Vladimir Norov especially praised the «Rumi» hotel, which was opened with the direct participation of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan his excellency Emomali Rahmon, and also noted the high art of Tajik architects. He specially emphasized the joint development of the parties and assessed the importance of active economic cooperation in mutually beneficial relations.
The Uzbek side wants to expand scientific and research relations in the fields of politics, economy, social and cultural, and considers it appropriate to implement several joint projects, including extensive scientific and research cooperation between the centers for the benefit of both sides.
Then, the representatives of the two sides discussed and evaluated the important issues of scientific and research cooperation between the Strategic Research Center under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the International Institute of Central Asia of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The parties decided to hold scientific activities between two important state institutions for effective scientific and research cooperation this year.
The director of the Strategic Research Center under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Khayriddin Usmonzoda, summarized the meeting and expressed the hope that the political, economic, social, cultural, scientific and literary relations between the peoples of the two friendly neighboring countries, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, will continue to expand and develop.
In the meeting took part, the deputy director of the Strategic Research Center under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Parviz Muhammadzoda, first deputy of the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Research under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akram Ne’matov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Tajikistan Ergash Shoismatov.
