The director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Usmonzoda Khayriddin attended the fifth meeting of the Central Asian Expert Forum “Topical aspects of regional cooperation in climate change, water management and food security and information and communication technologies in the Central Asian region” in Turkmenistan.
The forum was timed to coincide with the 27th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality and the 15th anniversary of the opening of the UN Center for Preventive Diplomacy.
The Research Centre for Strategic Studies of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan acted as moderator of the event with assistance of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.
Khairiddin Usmonzoda addressed about the problem of ensuring security in information and communication technologies and explained its multifaceted impact on countries of the region.
Speaking about complex approaches to protection of cyberspace, information security at national and regional levels, participants noted that now all countries of the region adopted and realise their strategic and conceptual documents directed to development of digital society, and counteraction of cyber threats.
During his speech, Usmonzoda spoke about the global proposals of Tajikistan in the direction of climate change, use of water resources, the issue of ensuring food security and regional security, and mentioned the close cooperation of the international community to solve these challenges.
He especially emphasized the initiatives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the implementation of these issues.
During his speech, the deputy head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Philipp Saprykin supported Usmonzoda’s views and explained the role of the Republic of Tajikistan for effective implementation of these issues at the regional and global level.
The conference was held in the spirit of sincerity, good understanding and constructive dialogue.
