On February 5, 2025, a press conference was held by the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. Numerous representatives of domestic and foreign media attended the event.
The press secretary of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences Ramazoni Davlatov, opened the conference and welcomed the media representatives. Then, the director of the Center, Khairiddin Usmonzoda, briefly presented a report on the scientific and organizational activities of the Center in 2024.
It should be noted that, according to the presented report, in 2024, the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan successfully organized the work of its scientists, analysts, and staff, achieving positive results in scientific research, preparation of analytical reports, organization of scientific and practical events, cooperation with government agencies, and international partnerships. A significant event was the signing of the new Charter of the Center on October 21, 2024, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan No. 878. This document clearly defines the Center’s tasks as a centralized scientific, analytical, and consultative institution of the country in the context of modern social processes in Tajikistan, the region, and the world.
Additionally, this year, the Center successfully passed state accreditation for 2025–2029 and received the corresponding certificate from the Agency for Supervision in the Field of Education and Science under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on October 30, 2024.
It should be emphasized that the preparation and submission of analytical and information-analytical reports are essential parts of the Center’s activities. In 2024, the Center sent more than 100 analytical and information-analytical reports to the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Following the scientific research program implemented since early 2024, studies were conducted on the topics: «National Security and Protection of National Interests at a New Stage of State Development of the Republic of Tajikistan: Issues and Strategic Prospects for Ensuring It» and «Ensuring Economic Security Based on Increasing the Competitiveness of the Republic of Tajikistan.» Based on these studies, scientific reports, analytical reports, and information-consulting reports were prepared, along with the organization of scientific and practical conferences.
Given the complex global situation, the Center’s specialists focused their research, analytical and consulting reports, and the organization of scientific and practical events on the impact of these processes on Tajik society. The timely and relevant assessments of the Center’s staff on these issues, along with their recommendations and analysis of significant political, social, and economic aspects of the country, region, and world, constitute a significant contribution to the Center’s research activities in the reporting period.
Developing scientific and research ties with intellectual centers of other countries is one of the Center’s priorities. Currently, the Center has signed cooperation agreements with 26 research institutions, reflecting its authority. The Center collaborates with analytical and research institutions in Russia, Kazakhstan, China, India, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, South Korea, and other countries. During the reporting period, the Center organized 12 meetings and negotiations with representatives of foreign countries and international organizations.
In 2024, the Center for Strategic Research signed memorandums of cooperation with the Institute of Politics and International Relations at Lanzhou University, the Economic Research Institute of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, and the Parliamentary Assembly of the CSTO. Additionally, on January 15–17, 2025, during the official visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, to Tajikistan, a memorandum of cooperation between the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Research Center of the Islamic Council of Iran was signed in the presence of the leaders of the two countries.
In 2024, under the support of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, two high-level international and regional events were held. In April 2024, within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Tajikistan, a joint conference of the Center for Strategic Research and the International Institute for Central Asia on the topic «Tajikistan and Uzbekistan: New Horizons for Strategic Cooperation and Partnership» was held. Additionally, during the official visit of the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, to Tajikistan, an international conference titled «Tajikistan-China: State and Prospects of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the New Era» was held.
The scientific journals of the Center titled «Tajikistan and the Modern World» and «International Relations and Security» are included in the list of authoritative publications of the scientific and educational community both within the country and abroad. Articles from these journals are regularly included in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI). It should be noted that the Center’s publishing activities have expanded, as the continuous publication of two authoritative journals is a significant achievement.
The Center’s publishing activities were recognized as satisfactory last year. In this direction, several books by the staff were published, including the anniversary book «30 Years of Analysis and Research on National State Construction» (in Tajik, Russian, and English), as well as collections of conference and roundtable articles organized by the Center in 2024, titled «Problems of Political, Social, and Economic Development of Tajikistan in Contemporary Conditions.» The continuous publication of two authoritative journals is also an important milestone in the activities of this division.
During this period, Center staff published 202 articles in state and non-state media, and 127 articles in scientific and analytical journals. In 2024, the editorial team ensured the publication of the journals «Tajikistan and the Modern World» and «International Relations and Security,» which included 164 articles. It is important to note that these journals were included in the list of authoritative publications of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. All articles of the Center continue to be indexed in RSCI.
The Center’s website holds an important place in the country’s information space. In 2024, 1007 scientific and analytical materials, as well as valuable articles and reports, were published on its pages, with 471 in Tajik, 321 in Russian, and 215 in English. During the reporting period, the website was visited by more than 1.3 million people.
In addition, two official Facebook pages were created under the names «Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan» and «Strateg,» where all of the Center’s activities are broadcast. The «Strateg» group has 770 followers, while the «Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan» group has 800 followers.
Cooperation with media and public organizations has also been active. In 2024, the leadership and staff of the Center appeared in the media more than 235 times. Analytical articles by the Center’s specialists were published 18 times in the «Khovar» agency, republican newspapers, scientific journals of universities, and independent online resources of government agencies.
Collaboration with foreign media was also significant this year. Center staff appeared three times on the «Television 24» channel (Uzbekistan), four times in Kazakhstan, twice in Turkmenistan, and six times through the International Television and Radio Company «MIR» during joint intergovernmental political events.
Inspired by the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the staff of the Center are actively working on implementing the set goals. In this context, the Center for Strategic Research prepared informational and explanatory materials titled «Explanation of the Key Provisions of the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, the Honorable Emomali Rahmon, to the Parliament: Essence and Main Directions,» published in a 50-page book. By order of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, this material was sent electronically to ministries, agencies, cities, districts, and regions of the country.
In the second part of the conference, the Director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Khayriddin Usmonzoda, answered various questions from domestic and foreign journalists regarding political, economic, and social issues. All questions were answered with well-reasoned and substantiated responses.
The activities of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan in the modern world are aimed at analyzing and forecasting the sustainable development of the country from a new, contemporary perspective.
