On April 18, 2024 in the city of Lanzhou was held an international conference on the theme «China’s relations with Central Asian countries in the framework of regional cooperation: processes and prospects».
The international conference organized by the Institute of Central Asian Studies of Lanzhou University was held with the participation of experts from state think tanks of Central Asian countries and representatives of this Institute.
During the conference, participants exchanged views on a wide range of issues related to bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Central Asian countries and China.
Ma’ruf Abdujabborov, Head of the Department of analysis and forecasting of foreign policy, took part in the conference on behalf of the Center for strategic research and made a report on «Tajikistan and China: priorities and prospects for cooperation in the context of the changing architecture of world politics». It was noted that over the past decade, Tajik-Chinese relations of strategic partnership have reached a qualitatively new level. The cooperation laid down in our bilateral projects almost fully expresses the interests of the entire Central Asia. As for the cooperation and positions of our countries on key issues of modern international politics, they stem from taking into account the interests of the parties and this is a very important positive phenomenon for the prospects of development of friendly relations between our countries.
In the final part of the conference, the results were summarized and a meaningful exchange of views among the conference participants took place.
Also at the end of the event, the leadership of the above-mentioned institute presented the representatives of think tanks of Central Asian countries with the diploma of «Professor of the School of Politics and International Relations of the Institute of Central Asian Studies of Lanzhou University».
The conference was held in the spirit of sincerity, mutual understanding and constructive dialog.
