On April 11, 2024, a meeting was held between the director of the Center for strategic research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Usmonzoda Khayridin, and the director of the International Institute of Central Asia, Javlon Abduzhalolovich Vakhobov.
From the Uzbek side, the meeting was also attended by Valiev Sanzhar — Director of the Information and Analytical Center for International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Kholmukhamedov Mukhsinjon Murodulloevich — Deputy Director of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Khaldarov Zamon — Deputy Director of the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Studies under Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Akram Umarov — Deputy Director of the International Research Institute of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Fatkhullayev Abror — Head of Department of the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Nazirov Azizkhan — Chief Specialist of the Economic Research Department of the International Institute of Central Asia, Nurmukhammad Bakhtiyorov is a leading employee of the International Institute of Central Asia.
At the beginning of the meeting, the director of the Center for strategic research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan welcomed the guests, positively assessed the friendly relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan and emphasized that their further development meets the interests of both countries. Khairiddin Usmonzoda called the role of the leaders of the two friendly countries the main factor in the development and strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation.
In turn, the director of the International Institute of Central Asia, Zhavlon Abdujalolovich Vakhobov, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome, gave a positive assessment of the current level of scientific and analytical ties between the two institutions and expressed confidence that in the future the parties will make more efforts to strengthen analytical cooperation.
Following the meeting, Usmonzoda Khayridin and Javlon Vakhobov signed the “Action Plan of the Center for strategic research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the International Institute of Central Asia for 2024.” This document includes mutual expert visits to Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, participation of researchers from both sides in conferences organized by these institutions, publication of joint articles, holding bilateral consultations in preparation for an international conference, etc.
We remind you that in addition to signing the above document, the purpose of the visit of the Uzbek delegation is also to participate in the international conference “Tajikistan and Uzbekistan: new prospects for strategic partnership and alliance.” The joint conference is planned to be held on April 12, 2024 in Dushanbe.
The parties expressed confidence that this conference, which is a logical continuation of the joint efforts of the leaders of both countries and the friendly peoples of Tajikistan, will be held at a high level and will help strengthen the bonds of friendship and joint development.
The meeting was held in the spirit of sincerity, mutual understanding and constructive dialogue.
