On June 16, 2023, was held the meeting of the Director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Khayriddin Usmonzoda with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Tajikistan Umut Ajar.
At the beginning of the meeting, Khayriddin Usmonzoda congratulated the Ambassador on another victory of President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Erdogan in the recent presidential elections and the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Republic of Turkey.
The director of the CSR also positively assessed the friendly relations between Tajikistan and Turkey and emphasized that their further development is in the interests of both sides. First of all, he noted the importance of cultural and spiritual ties of the Tajik and Turkish peoples. He also stressed the importance of developing trade, economic, cultural and tourism relations for both states of the same culture and noted that the existing indicators do not reflect the potential of our states.
Khayriddin Usmonzoda considered it necessary to establish research cooperation between the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the think tanks of the Republic of Turkey. For this purpose, a Memorandum of Cooperation should be signed between the centers, according to which employees of research centers of both states will be able to conduct scientific and analytical research in various fields and publish joint books on various political, economic and cultural topics.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey Umut Ajar thanked the leadership of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan for the warm welcome, highly appreciated the development of friendly relations between Tajikistan and Turkey and noted that the strengthening of these relations was the main goal of his diplomatic activities in the Republic of Tajikistan. He emphasized that the Republic of Turkey was one of the first to recognize the independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and opened its embassy in Dushanbe. He, referring to the cultural and historical commonalities of the peoples of Tajikistan and Turkey, noted that he would implement specific programs and proposals to further develop and expand cooperation in various areas, especially in the economy and trade. The meetings between the President of the Republic of Turkey his excellency Recep Erdogan and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan his excellency Emomali Rahmon opened new horizons for cooperation in political, economic and cultural fields between the states.
Mr. Ambassador noted that there are several think tanks in the Republic of Turkey. The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey is trying to establish research links between the think tanks of Turkey and Tajikistan, in which both states are interested.
The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere and corresponded to the high level of relations between the two states.
