Outside the People’s Republic of China, the first powerful climate and environment observation station under the «One Belt, One Road» project began to operate. This was reported by China’s Xinhua News Agency.
This observation station in Shahritus, Tajikistan, provides comprehensive observational data on dust, pollutants and meteorological elements in key areas of Central Asia, said Huang Jianping, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor at Lanzhou University. Huang Jianping said it can provide warnings of meteorological disasters and take climate change countermeasures. The station is part of the B&R climate and environmental monitoring network, which was designed by Lanzhou University and built jointly by government agencies and institutions in China and other countries.
Since 2016, the surveillance network is from Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu province in northwest China. Builds 20 planned stations in different countries and regions. Already 7 stations have been built and put into operation, the climate and environment observation station built in Shahritus district of the Republic of Tajikistan is one of them.
The B&R Climate and Environment Monitoring Network can remotely monitor the migration of sand, dust and other complex atmospheric pollutants and environmental conditions, ensure social and economic development, and play a prominent role in the review and study of global climate change in Central Asia and the People’s Republic of China.
