On May 22 of this year, on the sidelines of the 18th session of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Forum, a meeting between the Director of the Center Usmonzoda Khairiddin and the Chairman of the Council of Directors of the Economic Research Institute of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan Mahir Gumbatov was held.
Director of the Center, Usmonzoda Khayriddin, congratulated his colleague, who visited the Republic of Tajikistan to participate in the 18th session of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Forum, and provided specific information on the aspects of the Center’s activity. At the same time, he stated that promotion of scientific and research relations with intellectual centers of other countries is one of the main priorities in the activity of this important state institution of Tajikistan. It was mentioned that in the framework of cooperation between intellectual centers, holding seminars, round tables and scientific conferences in various fields has become a practice.
The Director of the Center recalled the state visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and assessed its results as important for both countries. In particular, he assessed the signing of a set of documents on bilateral cooperation as a new stage in the development of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.
Chairman of the Council of Directors of the Economic Research Institute of Azerbaijan, Mahir Gumbatov, in his turn expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and positively assessed the friendly relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan. Mahir Gumbatov emphasized that the further development of bilateral relations, in particular, the development of scientific, commercial and economic ties, meets the interests of both countries.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Economic Research Institute of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The deputy director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Parviz Muhammadzoda, also participated in the meeting.
The meeting was held in the spirit of sincerity and constructive dialogue.
