On May 22, 2023, on the sidelines of the meeting of the 18th Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the director of the Center for Strategic Research Usmonzoda Khairiddin met with the director of the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Research under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Oripov Eldor.
At the beginning of the meeting, the director of the Center Khayriddin Usmonzoda greeted the distinguished guest to the Republic of Tajikistan and congratulated his colleague on the successful holding of the national referendum in Uzbekistan. By the way, it was emphasized that a cooperation document was signed between the Center for Strategic Research and the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Research under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 1996, and during this period, the intellectual institutions launched and implemented a number of mutual scientific and practical events.
The Director of the Center expressed his opinion on the current situation of the region and the world and noted that the situation of the region and the world has become very sensitive and complicated. In such a complex process, the role of analytical centers in identifying risks, predicting processes and assisting in making effective decisions has become very important. Therefore, it is very important to strengthen scientific and analytical relations between these two intellectual institutions.
Director of the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Research under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Eldor Oripov, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and mentioned that the Center for Strategic Research has a high status as an important intellectual and analytical institution in the region. By the way, the leadership of the Center for Strategic Research congratulated the 18th Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Eldor Oripov expressed his satisfaction with the development of scientific-analytical relations with the Center for Strategic Research and expressed his interest in the development of bilateral relations. Eldor Oripov said that in the region of Central Asia, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tajikistan, under their political leaders, have established the best example of cooperation in all sectors, the expansion and implementation of common goals prompts our analytical centers to strengthen scientific cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the issue of extending the Memorandum of Understanding between the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Research under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. At the same time, it was mentioned that the schedule of joint activities between the two intellectual institutions should be prepared for one year.
At the end of the meeting, Usmonzoda Khairiddin noted that the chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Forum for 2023-2024 will be the responsibility of the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Research under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In this regard, he wished his Uzbek counterpart good luck in this direction.
