As it was mentioned earlier, the International conference «Tajikistan-Central Asia: the politics of good-neighborliness, mutual support, eternal friendship and joint development» was held in Dushanbe on March 10, 2023. In his speech, the deputy director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan noted that the ongoing shifts in the system of international relations are the most radical in recent times. As a result, initiatives to form a new global system by the leading regional and global actors are increasingly being heard. The views of politicians and experts differ from preserving a unipolar world to forming a qualitatively new multipolar world. As representatives of think tanks, it is important for us to provide an objective analysis of current regional and global processes.
He noted the following: «There is no doubt that today, when the world is in a difficult period of its development, the policy of good-neighborliness acquires great relevance. We are watching with concern the escalation of international relations. Challenges and threats to the national security of states are increasing before our eyes. At the same time, new regional and global trends are taking shape which already influence current processes. In addition, I would like to note the fact that, unfortunately, the main obstacle to solving existing problems is the high level of mutual distrust among all actors on the world stage. In the context of all the above, we note that if the world community fails to find points of mutual agreement and continues the policy of purely selfish standards in making political decisions without recognizing the position of its opponents, it will eventually lead to a global disaster. The processes we have noted have a very direct, complex and comprehensive impact on our region.
