On March 9, 2023, was held a bilateral meeting of the Heads of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan with the delegation of Turkmenistan, participants of the international conference “Tajikistan — Central Asia: the policy of good neighborliness, mutual support, eternal friendship and joint development».
First, the director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Khayriddin Usmonzoda, welcomed the guests and spoke about the historical stages of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, the expansion of political and economic relations between the two countries, and the friendship between the two brotherly peoples: Tajiks and Turkmens.
Then the director of the Center for Strategic Research of the Institute of International Relations under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Shiri Shiriev, expressed his gratitude to the Head of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan for the warm welcome and emphasized that cooperation between the two states, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan is expanding year by year. The Turkmenistan side wants to expand scientific and research relations in the fields of politics, economy, society and culture.
It should be noted that during the period of independence, the diplomatic, cultural and trade between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan became very effective. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. We believe that as a result of the upcoming visit of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, to the Republic of Tajikistan, will be open the new page for the expansion of the prospects of cooperation between the two friendly and brotherly states.
Then, the representatives of the two sides discussed and evaluated the important issues of scientific and research cooperation between the intellectual centers of both countries. The parties decided that it is appropriate to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Strategic Research Center under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Strategic Research Center of the Institute of International Relations under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan for effective scientific and research cooperation.
At the same time, it was considered important to hold scientific events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries and on the eve of the upcoming visit of the President of Turkmenistan, his excellency Serdar Berdimuhamedov, to the Republic of Tajikistan.
The director of the Strategic Research Center under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Khayriddin Usmonzoda, summarized the meeting and expressed the hope that political, economic, social, cultural, scientific and literary relations between the countries of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan will continue to expand and develop year by year.
In the bilateral meeting also took part the deputy director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Parviz Muhammadzoda.
The meeting was held in the spirit of sincerity, good understanding and constructive dialogue.
