On November 15, 2022, the director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Khayriddin Usmonzoda, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Tajikistan, Waleed bin Abdurrahman Alreshaidan.
Director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Khayriddin Usmonzoda, welcomed the guest and noted that the political, diplomatic, economic and cultural relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have been expanding and strengthening in recent years. Real cooperation between the two countries has been established in the fields of trade, transport, education, energy, mining, agriculture and industry and other priority areas.
Usmonzoda noted that within the framework of cooperation between think tanks and research centers the holding of round tables and scientific conferences in various fields has become a practice. He assessed the establishment of scientific and research relations between the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Rasanah International Institute for Iranian Studies of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) as vital.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Waleed bin Abdurrahman Alreshaidan, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome. He considered the friendly relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as positive and emphasized that further development of bilateral ties cooperation for the interests of both sides.
He particularly considered the development of trade and economic relations of both countries as important, and noted that the potential and real opportunities of both countries were not fully used in these fields. Saudi Arabia is ready to expand and expand mutually beneficial political, economic, social and cultural cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan.
Mr. Waleed bin Abdurrahman Alreshaidan expressed their readiness to continue and deepen cooperation between the think tanks and research centers of the two countries. In addition, the Ambassador noted that Saudi Arabia can play an important role in the implementation of useful practical cooperation for the development of Tajikistan’s economy.
Other topics of discussion included the security issue of the Central Asian countries and regional and international matters being of mutual interest.
They reaffirmed their mutual intention to further strengthen the political, economic, cultural and spiritual cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They also expressed their interest in organizing Tajik — Saudi scientific conference.
The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere and mutual understanding.
