DUSHANBE, 16.09.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – As of 10:00 today, armed conflicts continue in all directions of the state border of Tajikistan with the Kyrgyz Republic. Using various types of heavy guns and firearms, the Kyrgyz military forces subjected Tajik villages along the border to intensive mortar bombings and shellings, damaging civilian buildings and houses, reports the Press Center of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan.
Twice at 06:30 and 07:30, relevant government bodies of Tajikistan decided on a unilateral ceasefire step and proposed to enter negotiations. The Kyrgyz military personnel ignored these proposals and subjected Tajikistan’s settlements to intensive shelling from multiple types of weapons and military equipment.
Servicemen from the Kyrgyz special forces units carried out an armed attack on civilian houses, set fire to residential buildings and auxiliary facilities in the settlements of Bogiston and Lakon in Isfara.
Currently, Tajikistan’s efforts to stabilize the situation are not yielding positive results due to the fact that the Kyrgyz military personnel are ignoring proposals for peace negotiations.
