The meeting of the Republican Commission on Coronavirus Prevention was held today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda.

According to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan, yesterday, 15 confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection were registered, including 10 cases in Sughd and 5 cases in Dushanbe, from biological samples of suspected cases.

In this regard, the Commission has officially confirmed the existence of the infectious disease in Tajikistan.

From February 1 through April 30, 10,937 domestic and foreign citizens have been quarantined, of which 8,438 people have been discharged in a stable and healthy condition.

Also, more than 2,000 people are currently being diagnosed and supervised by doctors in country’s medical and preventive institutions. On April 29, 304 people had been discharged from medical facilities.

According to Commission’s decision, students studying in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years in higher education institutions will be able to finish their studies on May 4. The summer exams of these students will be summed up and evaluated according to the first and second rankings.

The state graduation exams for graduates of higher education institutions are scheduled for May 15.

According to the commission’s decision residents are now required to wear medical masks.
