MEETING OF THE LEADERSHIP OF THE CENTER FOR STRATEGIC RESEARCH WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF TURKMENISTAN TO TAJIKISTAN

On August 26, 2026, a meeting was held between Director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Khairiddin Usmonzoda and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Gochmyradov Aymyrat.

The meeting was also attended by First Secretary of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Tajikistan Bayramov Atamyrat and Chief Specialist Penaev Mekan.

At the beginning of the meeting, Director of the Center for Strategic Research Khairiddin Usmonzoda welcomed the guests and noted that strengthening friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, based on the principles of mutual respect, trust and common interests, is of great importance.

During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, paying particular attention to the development of scientific and expert-analytical ties in the context of the consistent expansion of bilateral interaction between the Republic of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. It was emphasized that scientific cooperation is one of the important areas of humanitarian interaction and creates additional opportunities for the exchange of experience, knowledge and research findings.

Particular attention during the meeting was paid to expanding cooperation between research institutions, analytical centers and expert communities of the two countries. The sides exchanged views on the prospects for implementing joint scientific research, preparing analytical materials, and holding scientific conferences, round tables, seminars and other events.

The participants of the meeting also emphasized the need to intensify contacts between specialists and researchers working on international relations, regional development, economics, security and other relevant areas. It was noted that regular exchanges of expert assessments and scientific developments can contribute to a deeper understanding of the processes taking place in the region and on the international arena.

An important place in the discussions was given to the issue of further developing interstate relations within the framework of regional cooperation. The sides noted that Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, possessing significant potential for interaction, are interested in expanding cooperation on the basis of mutual respect, equality and mutual interest.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Director of the CSR expressed gratitude to the Ambassador and to the embassy representatives of  Turkmenistan for the visit and fruitful meeting, emphasizing that the continuation of such meetings and the development of dialogue will contribute to further strengthening cooperation between the scientific and analytical institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

The meeting was held in a favorable atmosphere, in a spirit of mutual understanding and respect, confirming the commitment of the sides to further strengthening cooperation and trust between the two states.
