COVERAGE OF THE REGIONAL CONFERENCE “INTEGRATION OF CENTRAL ASIAN COUNTRIES ON THE BACKGROUND OF MODERN GLOBAL CHANGES: STATE AND PROSPECTS” BY DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN MASS MEDIA

The regional conference “Integration of Central Asian countries on the background of modern global changes: status and prospects”, held in present and online format on May 1, 2025 in the State Institution “National Library of Tajikistan”, received wide coverage in domestic and foreign media, and its materials were also broadcast in social networks.

It should be noted that this conference was held with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and on the initiative of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan together with think tanks of Central Asian countries.

The work of the conference was broadcasted by domestic media on 7 TV channels, including: “Jahonnamo”, “Tojikiston”, ‘Safina’, “Ilm va tabiat”, etc., 8 political radio programs: “Radioi Tojikiston”, “Ovozi Tojik”, “Sadoi Dushanbe”, “Khovar”, etc. and were broadcast in the information space of the country on the same day. In this regard, NIAT “Khovar” also informed about the purpose of this event on its website. At the same time, the news about this conference was published in the newspapers “Jumhuriyat” and “Sadoi Mardum”. Heads and specialists of think tanks and research institutes of Central Asian countries, foreign and domestic experts, representatives of ministries and agencies of Tajikistan were also involved in the media, and their opinions were presented through the country’s information media.

The conference was also well covered in the foreign media. In accordance with the purpose of the conference, the international network of sound and image “MIR” covered it in detail in its television news program. Also, information about the conference was disseminated through social networking sites of Central Asian countries, in particular, the discussion of the state and prospects of development and strengthening of bilateral and multilateral relations between the countries of the region, regional problems and strategies for their joint solution, issues of preventing the impact of probable problems on regional security and economy, which were the key topics of this conference, most of the speakers paid attention to these issues and emphasized their relevance. This event was also widely presented on the official websites of the Republics of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. Most “Facebook” users, both domestic and foreign expressed their opinions and thoughts about the level of the conference, analysis and discussion of the issues raised in comments, which were mostly positive.
