PARTICIPATION OF THE FIRST DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF THE CENTER IN THE FIRST FORUM OF THINK TANKS OF THE GULF COUNTRIES AND CENTRAL ASIA

On April 21, 2025, the First Forum of Think Tanks of the Gulf Countries and Central Asia was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, under the title “Central Asia – Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC).”

The forum was convened ahead of the second summit of the heads of state of Central Asia and the GCC, which will take place on May 5 in Samarkand.

The event was organized by the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) and the research foundation “Bourse and Bazaar.” The forum’s agenda was dedicated to strengthening dialogue and promoting practical cooperation between the two regions.

More than 40 experts from the countries of Central Asia and the Gulf participated in the event, including heads and experts from think tanks and representatives of political and diplomatic institutions.

Representing Tajikistan at the forum was Murtazozoda Oraz, First Deputy Director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. He spoke during the sixth panel session titled “How to Deepen People-to-People Ties,” presenting on the topic: “Tajikistan: Priority Areas for Expanding Mutually Beneficial Cooperation.”

In his speech, Murtazozoda Oraz emphasized that “The Republic of Tajikistan, through consistent implementation of its strategic goals during the years of independence, has entered a new stage of development. In this context, strengthening beneficial cooperation in increasing foreign trade turnover and the prospects of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the Gulf countries is considered important, while development opportunities in various fields call for accelerated progress.”
