The press conference was opened by the Center’s Press Secretary, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences Ramazoni Davlatov, who welcomed the media representatives. Then, the Director of the Center, Khayriddin Usmonzoda, briefly presented a report on the Center’s scientific and organizational activities for the first half of 2025.
It was noted that, according to the report, the Center effectively organized the work of its researchers, analysts, and staff across its departments in conducting research, preparing analytical and advisory reports, organizing scientific-practical events, cooperating with government bodies, and engaging in international collaboration — achieving positive results.
During the reporting period, the Center submitted high-quality and timely analytical and informational reports, memos, congratulatory texts, and event plans to the Executive Office of the President, the Government of Tajikistan, and other state institutions, in response to official assignments and directives.
Center staff regularly participates in government commissions and working groups of ministries and agencies, contributing significantly to the development and implementation of sectoral strategies and programs. In the first half of 2025, the Center participated in 10 such government and public working groups.
Research conducted by the Center also deserves attention. In line with its 2025 research plan, studies were carried out on topics such as “National Security and Protection of National Interests in the New Stage of Tajikistan’s Statehood: Challenges and Strategic Prospects” and “Ensuring Economic Security through Enhancing Tajikistan’s Competitiveness.” These studies resulted in scientific papers, analytical and advisory reports, and the organization of scientific-practical conferences.
The Director emphasized the importance of expanding ties with intellectual centers abroad. The Center currently cooperates with 26 research institutions from countries including Russia, Kazakhstan, China, India, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, South Korea, and others.
Notable agreements include partnerships with the Research Center of Iran’s Islamic Council, the Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute of Diplomatic Studies in Saudi Arabia, the International Institute of Central Asia, the University of Political Science and Law under China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, DAKSHIN – Center of Excellence for the Global South, and Mongolia’s National Institute for Security Studies.
The Center is a member of the CSTO Analytical Center, the SCO Forum, the Forum of Strategic Centers of Central Asia, the UN Center for Preventive Diplomacy in Ashgabat, and forums linking Central Asia with China and South Korea.
Khayriddin Usmonzoda, speaking about the organization of scientific-practical conferences, forums, symposiums, roundtables, and seminars, noted that in the first half of 2025, the Center held 4 conferences and 8 roundtables. During the reporting period, Center staff also participated — both in-person and online — in 14 international forums, scientific-practical conferences, briefings, expert meetings, and dialogues abroad.
It was also stated that over the past six months, 18 meetings — both in-person and online — were held with intellectual, academic, and research institutions from foreign countries. Most of these meetings were conducted with regional think tanks, as well as with representatives of diplomatic missions and embassies accredited in Tajikistan. Compared to the previous year, the number of such meetings increased by 4.
It was noted that on May 1, 2025, the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan held a regional conference titled “Integration of Central Asian Countries Amid Contemporary Global Changes: Status and Prospects.” The conference was attended by heads and experts from analytical centers and research institutes of Central Asian countries, foreign experts and independent analysts, as well as representatives of Tajikistan’s ministries and agencies.
It was announced that the Center has created all necessary conditions for staff training and professional development. Employees of the Center continuously enhance their academic and professional qualifications both domestically and abroad.
It was noted that in accordance with the Presidential Decree on the study of foreign languages, starting from April, English language classes are held twice a week for Center staff.
Regarding the expansion of publishing activities, Khayriddin Usmonzoda expressed his views and noted that during the reporting period, the Center prepared an informational and explanatory booklet titled “Clarification and Explanation of the Key Provisions of the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon to the Majlisi Oli: Essence and Main Directions.” The booklet, consisting of 50 pages, was distributed electronically to ministries, agencies, cities, districts, and regions across the country.
Two journals published by the Center — Tajikistan and the Modern World and International Relations and Security — were included in the list of recognized scientific journals by the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. Furthermore, Tajikistan and the Modern World has been listed under No. 96 in the register of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation since March 19, 2020. All articles from the Center’s journals are regularly indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI).
The Center has launched official pages on social media platforms Facebook under the names “Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan” and “Strateg,” where all Center activities are reflected.
In the first half of 2025, Center staff appeared more than 105 times in mass media outlets, addressing pressing societal issues. Their views were featured on national television and radio channels, including state media such as Safina, Tajikistan, Dushanbe, and Ilm va Hayot; radio stations Radio Tajikistan, Ovozi Tojik, Farhang, Sadoi Dushanbe; as well as in periodicals such as Jumhuriyat, Sadoi Mardum, Minbari Khalq, and Narodnaya Gazeta, and through the Khovar news agency and Khovar Radio. This reflects the Center’s active cooperation with mass media.
During the past half-year, the Center also strengthened its cooperation with foreign media outlets. In this context, according to Khayriddin Usmonzoda, during international scientific-practical conferences, using recorded video materials and speeches by both foreign and domestic participants, news and reports were published on independent websites of regional countries and shared via social media platforms — Facebook, Instagram, and Telegram. This serves as evidence of the Center’s active engagement with foreign media.
In the second part of the event, the Director of the Center provided comprehensive answers to questions from journalists representing domestic and international television and radio stations, including Radio Tajikistan, Sadoi Dushanbe, periodicals Sadoi Mardum, Khalq Ovozi, as well as correspondents from Radio Ozodi and the international broadcasting company Mir.
At the conclusion of the event, Khayriddin Usmonzoda expressed gratitude to the attendees and emphasized that the systematic work of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan is aimed at modern and innovative analysis and forecasting of the country’s sustainable development, taking into account the complex and contradictory nature of today’s world.
